I am delighted to announce I have been awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s commendation for masters excellence for my thesis Finding a voice: An exploration of the impact of language acquisition on identity using self-portraiture performance video, which I completed at Monash university (faculty Art Design and Architecture).

Each faculty nominates only one masters research student per year, so the nomination is an acknowledgement in itself. The nominations are then assessed by a panel and awarded to the top 3-5 theses from across all whole university of that year. You can view the 2013 winners here.

My supervisor, Peta Clancy was central to the success of this project. I am also grateful for the support of many other Monash academic staff members including Matt Perkins and my Monash peers, particularly the 2011 Prato research group.
